When a long-time client needed something bold, #TeamVonMack leapt to the occasion.

True to their creative, unapologetically awesome form, Louisiana’s Cajun Bayou needed a special campaign that went ALL. IN. CAJUN. The piece had to invite travelers into a story like nothing they’ve ever seen, heard, or tasted before… but something 100% real. In this case, the creative had to flex across swamp tours, fishing, bold Cajun flavors, and high-energy festivals. It had to pack in emotion with a look, a voice, and a clear direction that would hold together everywhere it showed up.

And we have to say – as a team, we killed it. Hands down, one of our favorite projects at Von Mack.

The Challenge: Identity to Air

Work began at the brand level. We went deep into ideation with Ian and Cody, making sure to stay in line with their mainstay Louisiana’s Cajun Bayou brand, and pushed the visuals to reflect the unique energy of the Bayou.

We started with the visual design pieces. We had the name “GEAUX BOLD” but we needed a subsidiary logo that carried the boom from the bayou! This meant building in graphical cues within the text of the logo presentation to give nod to the culture. It’s that little wink that makes all the difference.

After pinning down the logo with the perfect mix of subtle inferences, colors, and feel, we moved straight into full-scale asset production. We developed the GEAUX BOLD brand identity, shaped a design system, and then… we took the cameras on the road!

When it came to the lead video piece, every single component had to be perfect. 

We knew we had to source a narrator with just the right cadence – so we partnered with a professional colleague directly from the Bayou. We then gathered and fleshed out pre-planning with the camera crew, working directly with Ian to scoop up the premier spots to film on location. This attention to detail helped us build out something gorgeous as an end product, but ultimately helped gather a ton of additional footage to use future-forward. 

From there, we edited out a master hero video, which was produced into several platform-ready cutdowns.

The result is a multi-component destination marketing campaign that connects creative direction with media-ready assets.

Logo and Design System

In terms of detail, you can see the breadth of the campaign’s feel in pieces as small as icons.

GEAUX BOLD needed a mark that felt not only fearless, but rooted in place. And it needed to be recognizable right from a glance.

We created the logo and visual language with strong typography, textured elements inspired by the Bayou, and color that reads from a phone screen to a billboard. The system scales cleanly into visitor guides, digital ads, trail merchandise, billboards, and signage. We took extra special care to ensure that every placement keeps to the same pulse.

On-Location Video and Voice

And let’s break down our visits “down da Bayou,” shall we? Because they were nothing short of spectacular. But our mission went beyond having fun – it was to capture the area the way visitors experience it: Boats. Boards. Bites. Smiles.

But yes, we had a damn good time doing so.

Back home, we cataloged scenes from our footage, and scenes from Ian’s own footage, to pare down the ultimate shots to include in the full-scale reel.  Scenes selected were showcased with specifically chosen, upbeat music alongside that narrator whose tone carries the distinct rhythm of the place.

With that, the hero video came through production and now leads the Louisiana Cajun Bayou website and the YouTube channel, with variations tailored for web and social. There’s also shorter edits that keep attention high and maintain the campaign’s energy.

Multi-Channel Rollout

Working together, an entire creative system was built for distance.

Each touchpoint looks and feels like the same campaign, and that builds recognition and trust.

Impact

Geaux Bold gives Louisiana’s Cajun Bayou a rallying cry that travelers remember. The visuals, video, and voice bring flavors, festivals, tours, and fishing under one story. The campaign raises the destination’s profile and sets a clear direction for future seasons and messages.
